Privacy statement

The hotel attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data; we do everything we can to guarantee your privacy. This Privacy Statement clarifies how carefully we handle personal data. We are responsible for the processing of your personal data. General Data Protection Regulation

The hotel complies in all cases with applicable laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This entails the following:

  • We are aware of your rights regarding your personal data and will respect them at all times.
  • We process your personal data in accordance with the purpose for which it was provided, the type of personal data, and these purposes can be found further on in this Privacy Statement.
  • The processing of your personal data is limited to the data that is minimally necessary for the purposes for which they are processed.
  • We ask for your explicit consent if we need it for the processing of your personal data.
  • We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to guarantee the security of your personal data.
  • We do not pass on personal data to third parties unless this is necessary for the execution of the purposes for which it was provided.

Processing of personal data

Your personal data is processed by us for the following purposes:
• Making a reservation
• Issuing a quotation
• Sending (option) confirmations
• Providing information regarding the booked stay
• Sending newsletters (provided you have given permission for this)
• Providing information related to lost property

For the above purposes, we may request the following personal data from you:
• Name and address details, telephone number, e-mail address
• Identification and, if applicable, a license plate (at check-in)
• Payment information for agreements, such as an IBAN number and a payment reference

Provision to third parties

We may provide the information you provide to us to third parties if this is necessary for the implementation of the purposes described above. We use a third party to send newsletters. We don't pass on personal data to parties with whom we have not concluded a processor agreement. We make the necessary arrangements with these parties (processors) to guarantee the security of your personal data.

We will not provide the information you provide to other parties unless this is legally required and permitted. For example, if the police request (personal) data from us in the context of an investigation, we must cooperate and are then obliged to provide this data. We can also share personal data with third parties provided you give us written permission to do so. We do not provide personal data to parties located outside the EU.

Retention period

We do not store personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was provided or required by law. Guest data is retained for up to 2 years after checkout, to simplify any subsequent bookings you may wish to make for you. The data will be automatically deleted 2 years after checkout. If you want your data to be deleted earlier, you can make this known via avg@zuiderduin.nl (e-mail address of our partner hotel).

Security

We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unlawful processing:

  • Backup of important data
  • Automatic updates of system software and antivirus program
  • The systems are locked with username and password
  • Only authorized employees have access to the data system
  • There are surveillance cameras in a number of public areas in the hotel.

These serve to prevent theft or destruction and for the safety of our guests and employees. The images are kept for a maximum of two weeks. If an incident has been recorded, the relevant images will be saved until the incident has been handled. The images will not be made available to third parties unless this is legally required and permitted. For example, if the police request images from us in the context of an investigation, we must cooperate and are then obliged to provide them.

Cookies

The hotel uses functional, analytical, and tracking cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored in the browser of your computer, tablet, or smartphone when you first visit the website. The hotel uses cookies with purely technical functionality. These ensure that the website works properly and that, for example, your preferred settings are remembered. These cookies are also used to make the website work properly and to optimize it. In addition, we place cookies that keep track of your surfing behavior so that we can offer customized content and advertisements. On your first visit to our website, we have already informed you about these cookies and asked permission to place them. You can opt-out of cookies by setting your internet browser so that it no longer stores cookies. In addition, you can also delete all information previously stored via the settings of your browser.

Rights in relation to your data

You have the right to inspect, change, or delete the personal data that we have about you. You can also object to the processing of (part of) your personal data by our processors or by us. In addition, you have the right to have the information you provide transferred by us to yourself or directly to another party. We can, of course, ask you for identification before we can comply with such a request.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data, we ask you to contact us. If, after we have had contact with each other, you are not satisfied with the result, we regret that, of course. You then have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority in the field of privacy, the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP).
